Our Story
A Legacy of Leadership and Growth
In 1973, Glenn Wendler founded a civil construction company in South Amana, Iowa, naming it Wendler Engineering and Construction.
Small but mighty, the business generated staying power as its staff dedicated themselves to safety, quality, honesty, and family. In 1998, Glenn Wendler retired, and the company appointed Randy Reihmann as President. At that time, the company had begun developing a well-rounded construction fleet, and built a well-respected reputation among communities and developers in the state.
The company became WRH in 2008, and in 2020, Randy Reihmann transitioned to Chairman of the Board as Jamie Rich stepped into the role of President. In 2025, the company proudly reclaimed its original name—Wendler—in tribute to founder Glenn Wendler’s homegrown vision and legacy of craftsmanship.
Today, that vision has grown to 100+ employees, a substantial fleet, a diversified labor force, a superior management team, and a wealth of industry experience and historical data.
