Matt Grause serves as Chief Financial Officer of Wendler Inc., where he oversees all accounting and financial operations for the organization.

He leads financial planning and internal controls, manages cash flow and project budgeting, and maintains Wendler’s banking and bonding relationships.  

Matt plays a critical role in ensuring accurate job costing, regulatory compliance, and disciplined financial reporting, while providing strategic guidance that supports sustainable growth and operational efficiency across the company. 

Before joining Wendler, Matt spent 17 years in public accounting as a financial statement auditor, working extensively with construction contractors of varying size and complexity. That experience exposed him to a wide range of financial structures, risk profiles, and operational models within the construction industry.  

He holds Bachelor of Science degrees in Accounting and Marketing from the University of Iowa, and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Construction Industry Financial Professional (CCIFP). These credentials reflect both rigorous financial training and specialized expertise in construction finance, including risk management, compliance, and industry-specific accounting practices. 

With a leadership style grounded in accuracy, clarity, and forward-thinking strategy, Matt plays a critical role in strengthening Wendler’s financial foundation and enabling the company to deliver complex civil, municipal, and utility infrastructure projects with confidence and consistency.
